Slatwall Panels & Slatwall Shelves

Slatwall is a wall panel system with horizontal grooves (slots) that accept a wide variety of hooks, shelves, brackets, and display accessories. It mounts directly to your store walls and lets you create flexible, reconfigurable product displays. Slatwall is one of the most versatile retail fixtures — used in virtually every type of store from clothing boutiques to electronics shops.

Slatwall panels mount to wall studs using screws through the panel into the studs. Use a level to ensure the first panel is straight — all subsequent panels will align to it. Panels typically come in 4x8 foot sheets and can be cut to size. For commercial installations, mount panels to a furring strip system for extra strength and to allow for wiring behind the panels.

Slatwall accepts hundreds of accessory types including straight hooks (for hanging products), waterfall brackets (for clothing), shelves (for folded items), acrylic bins (for small items), sign holders, shoe displays, literature holders, and faceout brackets. Accessories simply slide into the horizontal grooves and can be rearranged anytime without tools.

When properly mounted to wall studs, slatwall panels can hold 40-75 pounds per linear foot. Individual hooks and brackets vary — standard hooks hold 10-15 pounds each, heavy-duty hooks hold 25+ pounds, and shelf brackets hold 20-40 pounds per bracket. Always secure panels to studs (not just drywall) for maximum weight capacity.

Gridwall is freestanding or wall-mounted wire panels, more affordable, and easy to reconfigure — popular for trade shows, pop-up shops, and budget-conscious stores. Mounted to studs, capacity reaches 40-75 pounds per linear foot. Be careful when looking at cheaper slatwalls that may use inferior core materials like particle board or plastic, causing grief in the long term.
