Displaying a few medals at home? You probably want a shadow box — a small framed case, usually under two feet, for a set of service medals or race finishes. Our cases are 48-inch locking glass cabinets for a school corridor, a clubhouse or a lobby, holding a whole program’s worth of awards on adjustable shelves.
A medal display case is a glass cabinet with the shelves set close together — four to six inches apart instead of the twelve to eighteen a trophy needs — so you get more rows of medals, ribbons and plaques in the same height. Our shelves are adjustable, so one cabinet does both.
You will also see these called an award display case, a school trophy case or a medal cabinet. Same product.
Two different products for two different jobs. This is the fastest way to tell which one you are shopping for.

If the shadow-box column is what you need, we are not the right supplier — and we would rather tell you now.
Set the shelf gap to what you are displaying. These cases give a 60″ to 67″ vertical display area.
| What you are displaying | Shelf gap | Rows in 60–67″ |
|---|---|---|
| Medals and ribbons on hooks | 4–6″ | 9–12 |
| Plaques standing upright | 8–10″ | 6–7 |
| Mixed medals and small trophies | 10–14″ | 4–6 |
A sizing rule of thumb, not a spec sheet. The display-area figures come from the cases’ own specifications.

The height between the shelves. Trophies need roughly 12 to 18 inches of clearance; medals, ribbons and plaques need four to six. A medal display case is the same cabinet with the shelves set closer together, so you get more rows in the same height. The shelves are adjustable, so one case does both.
Yes. Security locks are a listed option on these cases, alongside LED lighting and a mirror back. A lock is the usual requirement for a school corridor or an unattended lobby, so specify it when you request a quote.
No — free-standing. Nothing screws into the wall. The case stands on the floor against a wall or in a corner, so it can be moved later and needs no structural fixing, which matters in a school where the wall may be block, tile or glass.
A mirror back makes a part-full case read as full and shows the reverse of each piece, so it suits a collection that is still growing. A glass back lets you see through the case, which suits a room divider or a case standing away from a wall.
Set the shelf gap to what you are displaying. These cases give a 60 to 67 inch vertical display area, so at a four to six inch gap you get roughly nine to twelve rows of medals and ribbons across a 48-inch-wide cabinet.
